Members of this Division work in domestic/commercial/industrial services installation and maintenance of gas appliances, gas pipe and fittings, Type A and Type B gas appliances, Medical Gases and specialised Natural Gas and LPG.
Qualifications required to fulfil membership requirements for this Division include:
- A 'Full' Gasfitting Licence
- Type A Licence
- Type A Restricted Licence
- Specialised Natural/LP Gas Installer
- Type B Licence
- Type B Advanced Licence
- Medical Gases Licence
Member representation includes 3 National Gas Standards Committees and regular communication with regulatory authorities such as Energy Safe Victoria, Plumbing Industry Commission and WorkSafe Victoria.
The Gas Services Division with support from affiliate members and Energy Safe Victoria was instrumental in the development of Type A and Type B Gas Appliance Servicing Courses.
Members provided advice and equipment to fit out the Gas Training Services Department at the New Plumbing Industries Climate Action Centre (PICAC) in Brunswick, Victoria.
A number of Type A and Type B courses (subsidised for members) are currently being delivered.

- Carbon Monoxide (CO) Safety Promotional Campaign being developed by Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) during April/May 2011.
Training and 'Test Procedures' are being developed.
- AS/NZS 5601 - Has not been adopted in Victoria yet. Awaiting for response from ESV by 30 June 2011 on whether any jurisdinctional amendments are to be made. Rick Taylor and Roger Lambie from MPMSAA, Enzo Alfonsetti from ESV and Paul Harris from PIC are reviewing the whole two part Standard with the results/suggestions being provided to the AG006 Committee who produced the new Standard.
